The Realm Precinct is busier than ever, and DOMA Hotels is searching for a highly motivated and passionate Business Development Manager to join our rapidly expanding, innovative and award-winning team, in a full-time capacity based in Barton, ACT.
This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on developing new business opportunities and building strong client relationships whilst showcasing some of Canberra’s most luxury hotels.

About the role
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and driving sales across our portfolio of hotels.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct site inspections showcasing the portfolio of Doma Hotels to new and existing clients
- Develop and maintain sales activities for assigned account base and in line with segmentation targets.
- Promote Doma Hotels nationally, through networking events, Trade Shows, Conferences, in professional situations and industry groups.
- Target new business opportunities for corporate and conference sales driving hotel business and awareness
- Develop and maintain a contact and customer database within the Hotels market segments.
- Prospect for new business via tools available, telemarketing and face-to- face meetings
- Prepare sales proposals to clients incorporating clearly defined terms and conditions.
- Draft and review contracts and RFP’s
- Develop a thorough understanding of all processes and systems used by Doma Hotels
- Monitor competitor information and activities through client feedback, local knowledge and research
- Meet minimum sales calls/appointment targets weekly
- Proactively source leisure group business for the DOMA hotels portfolio
- Prepare sale reports as required for senior management
- Conduct quarterly reviews with allocated account base
What you will bring

Naturally, your previous experience within a luxury hospitality setting, will come highly regarded. As will the following:

- In depth knowledge of sales principles and techniques
- Strong local market and competitors’ knowledge
- Great customer service skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong negotiation & follow up skills
- Strong client management, problem solving and organisational skills.
- Proactive approach to sourcing new business with an ability to develop strong relationships with customers and senior management.
- Advanced time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Deep understanding of hotel consortia programs, RFPs and IT applications: Opera, Global Distribution System and Microsoft suite
