We are looking for an experienced cook to join DOMA’s café, Monte. Set on Honeysuckle Drive with views onto Hunter River, Monte is situated under our beautiful Little National Hotel Newcastle.

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to the chef’s instructions and recipes
• Ensure that ingredients are properly stored and handled to maintain freshness and safety
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation, adhering to hygiene and sanitation standards
• Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and basic ordering
• Delivering a consistently high level of product quality and presentation

What you will bring

• A willingness to learn and a keen interest in food
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Available to work both weekdays and weekends on a rotating roster
• Ability to work effectively and calmly in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrating appropriate level cooking techniques and procedures
